My fiance's mom and dad are from india and they have always wanted me to take up there language since i am studying to be a linguist. I have a couple of other "Making out .." books and still enjoy going back to review them. I thought i would order the hindi book and see how it goes..opened it up memorized a phrase, and as soon as my fiances mom was around, i shocked her w. some hindi phrases. So i'd say it's a pretty good book as well. The front pages has the hindi alphabet with english words next to it to show you how to pronounce them. The shipping quality was awesome as well. I will def. be ordering more in other languages after i become more advanced in the one's i am currently learning.
I have a couple friends who are needed Hindi speakers, they laughed a lot when I used some of the phrases in this book. Sometimes because it was just funny to hear a white guy say them, and other times because they would never have said things that way.This book is good for learning certain phrases. But some of the phrases, I'm told, are not always in mood appropriate.This book does teach you a lot of informal phrases, however. So if that is your goal, this book will help you achieve it.The book is physically quite small, so it's easy to carry around.
Its a good basic starter guide to learn Hindi but if you are looking for serious making out phrases then this is not for you.
