Let me say first, I will be purchasing more books from this author. I found the book to be a great resource with good visuals that gave me some ideas that I will definitely use. I would have felt I had my money's worth with just the book. But in addition to the book is a CD with embroidery designs that are very adaptable to a lot of different projects. My embroidery machine completely intimidated me for a year. With this book and a some design downloads from some of my favorite sites, I feel ready to take on some more challenging projects. My machine came with instruction books that were not particularly helpful. I saved a hundred dollars by purchasing it through Amazon, but did not have the opportunity to go to the classes offered by local vendors who sell the machines at a premium (with classes). This book helped me to see what could be done with applique that was a little trendier than my grandmother's designs, but with the same hand-made charm. The book alone was worth the money, as I said, but I would also say the designs on the CD would also be worth the price of the book. A book full of wonderful ideas on applique techniques. So many beautiful designs to choose from.I would highly recommend this book. Beautiful pictures and complete details on how to do it.

I have several of Mary Mulari's books and all of them are great. Her projects are innovative, yet something I would enjoy making or giving to others. These are good quality embroidery designs with lots of possibilities.

This is one of my favorite machine embroidery books with CD's. It has excellent projects and designs. It is a great addition to my library and I recommend it highly.

This book is essentials for anyone using an embroidery machine. The CD included is well worth the price alone. Mary Mulari is tops in her field and the only reason I am ordering is I had this book and CD but somehow lost the CD. There are many books in this series that are a must in your collection.

This is a good resource for machine embroiderers. The whole series is good, and I recommend them to people in embroidery classes that I teach.

This did not have enough information for me to keep the book. I returned it. Only one of the projects described was of interest to me.

As a beginner, I looked all over for a book to help me learn applique. This book is not step-by-step at all. Fortunately, I followed advice and paid a little more for my new sewing-embroidery machine (Innovis 1250D) from a dealer that also provides great one-on-one classes. Put this book aside, might try it later.Can't recommend it!
