I have this book which I am currently reading. The land desolate when the people not there. Only when they are living in the land does it bloom asit is doing so today. This land was promised to His people. The Bible is true, I have a copy of The Cepher from Stephen Pidgeon, editor whichI am very grateful to have received as well. This has helped me having been reading in the Cepher. His people are returning to the land todayin large numbers from all over the world. Other people who have dwelt in the land have not been able to cause the land to bloom, remaineddesolate. This nation which was not a nation for so many long years became a nation in 1948 and the 70th birthday is nearing to be celebrated14 May 2018 the birthday of Israel. It is a beautful book, coffee table book. The remarks of Mark Twain are wonderful and to see the landbloom is incredible these days with the people in the land to whom HE gave this land of promise through His promise to Abraham. You willenjoy this book for I have.
Great book! I never knew how changed Israel could be until seeing this book. The book is worth it and a good investment for showing guests. I like the fact that Biblical prophecy is shown by pictures which anyone can understand.
With stunning photos and expert commentary, the book is a must have for anyone with any kind of interest in Israel. There is simply nothing like it.
If most of us are lucky, we've been able to glimpse photographs of what life was like in the region we hail from over 100 years ago. Civilizations have sprung up, and we can see the hard work and struggles our predecessors have undergone to pave the way for us. However, whether you've read the Bible or not, when you go through "Israel Rising," the reader is literally propelled backwards in time to see how the once dried up land has become so fruitful in 100 years time. That may seem like a long time to you, but, in the grand scheme of things, 100 years isn't that much time to become the thriving culture Israel is today! Plant life flourishing where there was just dust before; seaports springing back to life; beaches filled with visitors from near and far. Israel gives so much to the world that when you see what hard work and determination can do to a country roughly the size of New Jersey, you just want to go and visit and take in the spectacle for yourself. Enjoy the read!
Great book as I compares pictures from long time ago as early as 1900 and compare them with present pictures of today. Surely Israel has risen from the dead, but the greatest blessings will come to Israel to the Millennial, Messianic Kingdom, when the true Messiah come back, who is none other than the Lord Jesus Christ.

This book is gorgeous. It underscores before our very eyes the blessing of God on His land and people and the fulfillment of His promises. I have given 4 stars rather than 5, because on page 150 it reads that the destruction of Herod's temple was in 7 AD. It was in 70 AD. The year being 70 AD and not 7 AD is very important in the history of the Jewish people. When I contacted the author to bring this to light for future editions, he wrote me back, but did not comment on the mistake. I bought two copies of the book, one being a gift. The copy I bought as a gift I will now have to pen in and comment on the correct year, which will take away from the beauty of this book.
This is a beautiful book. It's like keeping a journal then looking through its pages and realizing how many prayers God answered. In the authors case, his journal was the Bible and the prayers were Gods promises.... by the way, He keeps His promises. Loved this book so much that I bought a second one as a gift.
